Wild Research Concept Envisions an Inflatable Village on the Moon

Inflatable greenhouse buildings that are connected to one another to form a "village," according to a group of researchers

with a top fixed on enormous mirrors to provide sunlight.

An Austrian company called Pneumocell creates inflated structures that are inspired by biological cells.

recently submitted the concept to the Open Space Innovation Platform of the European Space Agency.

The brilliantly named PneumoPlanet project comprises a plan for a lunar habitat on two locations near the south and north poles of the moon.

These locations are near PSRs and provide the best lighting conditions (Permanently Shadowed Regions),

which are very likely to contain near-surface water ice, noted the scientific team who worked on the experiment.
